Founded in 2002, Birmingham Artwalk is a two-day arts festival that transforms Birmingham’s loft neighborhood into an arts district, featuring the work of more than 100 visual artists, live musicians, street performers, food and drink vendors and children’s activities. We are excited to have its Artist Coordinator, Joy Myers, and Artwalk President, Tony Diliberto, discussing the event's history, challenges and successes with us. Joy Myers has more than twenty years experience in developing, planning, promoting an executing events for organizations such as Railroad Park Foundation, NASA, Schaeffer Eye Center, Birmingham Artwalk, Operation New Birmingham and HealthSouth. In addition to event management, Myers has extensive experience in media buying, social media, media relations, internal publications and public speaking. Joy currently serves as the Director of Events for Railroad Park Foundation.
Tony Diliberto has been a marketer in Birmingham for the past 21 years and is a past president of AAF Birmingham. Tony owns Indelible Marketing and lives in Southside with his wife Amelia and their dog Dottie. He has been involved with Birmingham Artwalk since 2005, serving as the marketing chair, street captain, co-director and now the president of the board. It was destiny that he join the Birmingham community and is an avid mountain biker, whitewater kayak-er and dog lover.
